| Ravens cut Hamlin
To make room on the roster for cornerback Cary Williams, the Ravens cut veteran safety Ken Hamlin on Wednesday. Hamlin was signed in the summer to help alleviate the loss of Ed Reed Jersey to injury, but never threatened Tom Zbikowski for Reed's starting job. The continued improvement of Haruki Nakamura also helped make Hamlin expendable. Hamlin is an eight-year veteran who played with the Seahawks and Cowboys before joining the Ravens. He played only special teams in two games for the Ravens, with one tackle. Hamlin's job was in jeopardy during training camp,NCAA Jerseys, when coach John Harbaugh threw him off the practice field for a lack of intensity working on special teams. Harbaugh said Wednesday he wasn't sure if Williams will play in Sunday's game against the Browns. Williams is eligible to play after serving a two-game suspension for an incident that occurred while he was with the Tennessee Titans. "I don't know yet," Harbaugh said of Williams' potential to play. "It's a possibility. We'll have to see in practice how he looks and really how that 45-man roster shakes out." |
