The Tampa Bay Buccaneers would dominate the NFC West.
Those same naysayers will say, it was only the Niners. And yes, Mike Singletary is doing his darn best to get fired.

A defensive unit that has been starving for sacks, starving to stop the run, feasted on Sunday as the Bucs got themselves one of those rare NFL feats—a shutout of those Niners who were begging to be shut out.
Josh Freeman continued to be the Josh Freeman who could run for mayor of Tampa and win. He wasn't spectacular, but he was cool and calculating and fooled the pants of the Niners defense twice, first on the eight-yard flip to Mike Williams for a touchdown, then again to put San Fran out of its misery when he threw gently to tackle Donald Penn, in as an eligible receiver.
